You have a tub of Natreve Whey Protein powder, and while you love it however you’re using it now, you want options. So today, we’re bringing you just that!
But First….
A little more on what’s inside that tub. The 100% Grass-Fed rBGH Hormone-Free New Zealand Whey found in Natreve Whey Protein is sourced from a small 4th generation farmer, one of the leading suppliers of New Zealand whey, who has never used hormones or non-organic components. Pretty amazing right? That, paired with delicious flavor options like French Vanilla Wafer Sundae, Peanut Butter Parfait, and Strawberry Shortcake, makes it an excellent option to simply shake with water. And even still, sometimes that’s not enough, so as promised, we’re bringing you five alternative ways to use your whey protein powder.
1. DIY Creamsicle
Water is cool and all but have you ever made an at home creamsicle? We have, and we highly recommend it.
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Natreve Whey Protein, French Vanilla Wafer Sundae
- 1 cup plant-based beverage or dairy milk (I like oat beverage)
- ½ cup orange juice
- Ice (optional)
Directions:
- Blend Natreve Whey Protein and plant-based beverage or dairy milk
- Once blended, add orange juice and ice and blend until completely mixed
- Pour into a tall glass, sip and chill
2. Salted Caramel Smoothie
Hands down, an ice cream flavor fan favorite. But it’s not just limited to ice cream (any more!).
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Natreve Whey Protein, French Vanilla Wafer Sundae
- 1 cup plant-based beverage or dairy milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 pitted dates
- Sea salt to taste
Directions:
- Blend Natreve Whey Protein and plant-based beverage or dairy milk
- Once blended, add dates and salt, then blend until completely mixed (it can be helpful to break up the dates before adding to your blender)
- Taste, add more salt if needed
- Pour into a tall glass, sip and live your best, salted caramel covered, life
3. Basic (In The Best Way) Berry Smoothie Bowl
Like a smoothie, only thicker, and with toppings. If you ask me what a smoothie bowl is, that’s what I’d say. And here’s how I’d make it.
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Natreve Whey Protein, French Vanilla Wafer Sundae
- ¼ cup plant-based beverage or dairy milk
- ½ cup frozen berries
- Toppings: honey, coconut, berries, banana, granola, whatever suits your fancy
Directions:
- Add liquid to the blender, then add Natreve Whey Protein and blend until combined (adding more liquid as required - but you want this thick so go low and slow)
- Add frozen berries and blend until combined (option to add more liquid if required at this stage too)
- Pour into a bowl and top with the toppings of your choice, add a spoon and you’re ready to enjoy your creation
4. Protein Balls
Protein balls, maybe you’ve made them, maybe you haven’t. Whatever the case may be, these are a must try. Super simple and so delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Natreve Whey Protein, French Vanilla Wafer Sundae
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey or agave
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- ¾ cup oats
- Dash of salt (to taste)
- Handful of chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients by hand and/or with a rubber spatula until combined
- Roll into balls and place on a baking sheet
- Store fridge or freezer to harden
- Remove from baking sheet and store in the fridge in an airtight container
5. Brownies
If the aunts in Practical Magic can have brownies for breakfast, so can you. Recipe adapted from Gimme Delicious.
Ingredients:
- ¼ scoop Natreve Whey Protein, French Vanilla Wafer Sundae
- ¼ cup flour
- 1/2 cup melted, salted butter
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 8 x 8 pan with lightly greased parchment paper
- In a small bowl sift Natreve Whey Protein, and flour together
- In a medium bowl combine melted butter, cocoa powder, and sugar and stir until mixed
- Add eggs (one at a time - this is a GOOD tip from Gimme Delicious), then vanilla and stir until combined
- Fold in flour mixture until combined
- Pour into pan and bake for approximately 20-22 minutes
- Cool completely then cut and serve (pro tip: break up a piece into bite-sized squares and use as smoothie bowl topping)
